Many ordinary Americans may not have known of Shahrukh Khan just over a week ago but all of that has changed with the incident involving the star at Newark Liberty International Airport.
SRK was detained whilst arriving to participate in India’s Independence Day celebrations in the US. Ironically, he had till recently been shooting in the US his film My Name is Khan, which is about racial profiling of Muslims after 9/11.
However, after a week of government comment, celebrity comment, countless interviews, accusations, denials and backtracking; where are we now?
Well, now we are at funny; the issue has become fodder for comedians in the US, “The Daily Show” finds the humour in this segment from Wednesday night’s broadcast, in which the correspondent Aasif Mandvi, who is Indian (by way of Tampa, Florida), educates the host, Jon Stewart, on Mr. Khan’s superstar status in Bollywood.
I guess laughter is the answer!
