Bloody Nose: Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor hurt!

Here's a story that's quite nosey. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif landed up hurting their noses in a scene. A unit source said, "It was an action sequence. Ranbir was fighting goons and while doing the shot he landed up hurting his nose. And in the same fighting sequence, he accidentally landed up hitting Katrina on her nose too."

But she never complained once. In fact she laughed it off saying, "Ranbir are you trying to save me from the goons or are you saving the goons from me." Everyone laughed on the set.

Ranbir Kapoor badly hurt his nose while shooting for a wedding sequence in Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani.

A unit member said, “The scene required Ranbir to hop and elope with Kats on his bike. He had to ride the bike in full speed and he has crash through the wooden house in the escaping process.

He successfully gave the shot but during the process, it was his nose that banged on the wooden sheet of the house.”

“When Ranbir was watching the shot on the monitor, Katrina noticed his bleeding nose. She gently applied ice and nursed him till the bleeding stopped completely. Ranbir was touched by Katrina's gesture, ” said our source.

Shazahn Padamsee kisses Rocket Singh Ranbir!

After Deepika, Bipasha and Minnisha Lamba, Shazahn Padamsee has locked lips with Ranbir Kapoor in his upcoming film Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year.

The kiss is part of a dream sequence and the only sizzling part in the movie, because the character of Rocket Singh doesn’t have a leading lady in the film, as per sources.

After shooting the kiss with Ranbir, Shazahn was quite animated and told her friends about it. "Shazahn and Ranbir have amazing chemistry in the film.

It seems that Katrina Kaif is more happy to have worked with Ranbir Kapoor and also finds it bit relaxing. Smiles and says the pretty damsel, ''Till date whenever I reported on the sets of any of my films, I was accustomed to saying good morning sir! Thank God! While working in AJAB PREM I never had to do anything like that. Jokes apart, when you work with the people of same age-group, you automatically get comfortable. Ranbir Kapoor is a chilled out guy, never takes himself seriously and doesn't have any ego problems. So it was very easy and natural to get along with him.''

Director Rajkumar Santoshi is quite secretive, rather diplomatic about his actors' real and reel relationship. He lately Director Rajkumar Santoshi proved it when asked about the on and off screen chemistry of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif . Santoshi added, ''Well, I can't really go about revealing much about their chemistry, both on and off-screen when they are around. However, if this question is put to me in isolation, I have no qualms to answer the same.''

Actress Katrina Kaif is riding on a wave of hits. After the successful New York she is all set to charm the audiences in a romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani with actor Ranbir Kapoor. Katrina spoke to CNN-IBN about what really made her say yes to this role, Ranbir and much more.

CNN-IBN: What really made you do this film?

Katrina Kaif: I have to say it has to be the director Rajji (Rajkumar Santoshi). He is an actor's director. And I felt that the role was something unusual.

CNN-IBN: Tell us something about Ranbir Kapoor which you learnt while shooting for this film?

Katrina Kaif: He is very talented. There is never a dull moment when he is around. He tries to keep the atmosphere on the sets very positive and never lets anyone feel low.

CNN-IBN: Tell us three things about Katrina that no one knows?

Katrina Kaif: I love doing nothing and create movies in my head when I'm travelling in the car, sit and make stories in my head, long romantic stories. I just love hanging around with people who can make me laugh.

Rishi Kapoor boasts about son Ranbir

Speaking to the media channels, Rishi Kapoor says, “Carrying the surname of ‘Kapoor’ doesn’t offer him a chance to make it big in tinsel town. But Ranbir has been striving to prove himself off his potentialities in each of his films. Right from Thursday evening, I have been receiving congratulatory calls from various corners of tinsel town and closer circuit.”

Also added that his wife Neethu Singh was much present in every process of ‘Wake Up Sid’ as she ensured that youngsters of today will reflect themselves over the onscreen character of Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor repeats the towel act

It seems it will take quite some time for our Ranbir Kapoor to get rid of that ‘Towel boy’ tag which he earned post Saawariya. Never was a scene by an actor picturised in such a sensuous way that many raised their eyebrows (males) while some skipped a heart beat (females), seeing the young Kapoor in just a towel.

The recent promos from the film that are on-air have already set many girls swooning over Ranbir, as he is back with just a towel to cover his modesty. Ranbir shoots song day after grandmother's death

Ranbir Kapoor shot for a special last-minute song in the movie Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year soon after losing his maternal grandmother.

The young actor was very close to his grandma Rajee Singh [his actress mother Neetu Singh's mother] who lived in his house. In fact, she lived in a room right opposite his and was constantly in and out of her favourite grandson's space.

But the day after her death, he was dancing to choreographer Ahmed Khan's tune.

"We had to cancel one day's shoot because Ranbir's naani passed away. But we managed in two days," said Khan.

The song was apparently added to the film without any warning.

"Even I was surprised when Aditya Chopra approached me for a song in Rocket Singh.... Then I heard the track by Salim-Suleiman and I was blown. It's a sure-shot hit," said Khan who is riding high on the waves of the Dhan te nan track from Kaminey.

The song was apparently Chopra's and not Amin's idea.

"I've a five-film deal with Yash Raj, so I am at their beck and call. And if it's a song for Ranbir, then it's even more fun," said Khan who has forged another durable star-choreographer bond with Ranbir after Shahid Kapur.

"Rocket Singh... is my third film with Ranbir after Bachna Ae Haseeno and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. We've an almost instinctive understanding of what Ranbir's body language is and how it can be used," he said.

This would the second item number with a Sikh hero after Singh Is Kinng, but Khan says it is different. "This is a young cute Sardarji having a blast on the dance floor. It's unlike anything anyone has ever seen."

Legendary R.K. Films not being revived with Ranbir Kapoor starrer

Since quite some time, there was talk that the celebrated R.K. Films, founded by the legendary Raj Kapoor, is in the process of being revived. Reportedly, the Kapoors were keen to start a film with Ranbir Kapoor in the principal lead, thus signalling the revival of the banner after a hiatus.

"As of now, there are no such plans to start a film under the R.K. banner," Rishi Kapoor clarifies emphatically. "Yes, we did meet people, we were toying with the idea of starting a few films, but we couldn't find the right subject to revive the banner. Nothing exciting came up."

The veteran, who has been an integral part of many an important film in his illustrious career, will now be seen in Chintuji. "It wasn't titled Chintuji initially. The title was something else. In fact, it was more of a tongue-twister, hence the makers decided to change it to Chintuji, which is very flattering [that's how he is addressed by his dear ones]," he states.

The veteran actor plays himself in Chintuji. "Except that I am not as spoilt in real life as I am projected in this film," he laughs. He enacts the role of an actor who takes to politics when he realizes his career is fading. "It's an interesting film and a role that I have not portrayed earlier," he says.

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor see each other off!

Mumbai: Another celebrity couple that attracts attention is Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. There are always speculations about the status of their relationship. But this couple is very much in love.

It is heard that Deepika and Ranbir try to see each other off at the airport if either of them is travelling.

If it is Ranbir then Deepika ensures that she drops him off at the airport so that the couple can spend quality time together. And it works the same way for Ranbir too.

And just two days back Ranbir's grandmother expired, hearing the news Deepika rushed to her beau's side to give support to his family. She was supposed to go to Italy for the shoot of her movie ‘Housefull' but cancelled it to come to Mumbai.

Ranbir Kapoor to be clean shaven

Ranbir Kapoor is waiting to get rid of his fully-grown beard. The actor is shooting back to back for Shimit Amin's Rocket Singh till the month end, as he wants to shoot a music video for Wake Up Sid on August 26 and start shooting for Prakash Jha's Rajneeti too. The actor needs to have a clean-shaven look for the same.

A source from the unit reveals, "The movie has come to an end and was suppose to wrap up on August 14, but got delayed by a couple of days which has kept the actor's beard on. Ranbir has given his dates and has to shoot a song video for Wake Up Sid and needs a clean look for the film. Thus, he has to make sure he finishes his shoot of Rocket Singh to remove his beard."

The source continues, "Director Shimit is very particular about Ranbir's natural beard and doesn't want him to don a fake beard either. Even the lead actress Gauhar Khan has coloured her hair dark blonde for the character of the film. Ranbir will finish his shoot by next week and few patchwork of Gauhar will be remaining then to be shot."

"The actor himself has got exhausted with the beard and wants to remove it as soon as possible. This is probably the first time Ranbir has kept such a grown beard on him for such a long period. He has been making public appearances too in this avatar of his," adds the source.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have done it again. The trio, known for their hit and melodious soundtracks in films like Kal Ho Naa Ho and Taare Zameen Par, have composed another interesting music album in Wake Up Sid, a Karan Johar film that stars Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma.

It has five original numbers and one remix.

Aaj kal zindagi is a soft, soothing and inspirational song. It is fantastically crooned by Shankar Mahadevan. The increase in tempo towards the end adds zing to the track.

Next in line is Iktara, which is the best song of the album. A fusion of rustic and western influences, it has a heavy dose of guitar strumming. Kavita Seth's brilliant vocals strike a chord with the listener. Seth teams up with Amitabh Bhattacharya in the song and it is sure to be a chartbuster.

Kya karoon sung by Clinton Cerejo is an average, feel-good kind of a number. Cerejo's unconventional voice works well for the song.

Up next is a young and hip track called Life is crazy, which has Uday Benegal and Shankar Mahadevan behind the mike. The track is soaked in contemporary sounds and is sure to be a hit, especially among youngsters.

Finally, we have the title track Wake Up Sid, again sung by Mahadevan himself. It's a sweet and entertaining song with a strong musical backing. The highlight of the song is the way it goes from fast-paced to slow and then back.

The number also has a remixed version, which is not a typical add-more-beats kind of track. It is interesting and adds colour to the original.

On the whole, the composers have stuck to their signature style and have given music that will be liked by many.

Ranbir had enough of his beard

One would have been aghast at Ranbir Kapoor’s bearded looks at the recent ‘Wake up Sid’ press meet. Well, it seems the actor himself was unhappy with his overgrown ‘dadi’. Ranbir who is acting in Shimit Amin's ‘Rocket Singh’ plays a Sardar complete with a turban and beard. But the beard is now becoming a problem for the actor as he is needed to have a clean shaven face for ‘Wake up Sid’ and Prakash Jha's ‘Rajneeti’.

According to sources, ‘Rocket Singh’ has come to an end and was supposed to wrap up on August 14, but got delayed by a couple of days which has kept the actor's beard on. There is a video song left for ‘Wake up Sid’ so he has to make sure he finishes his shoot of ‘Rocket Singh’ to remove his beard. Ranbir Kapoor to work with Imtiaz Ali

After the success of Love Aaj Kal, Imtiaz Ali has become a director many actors want to work with. Taking the lead is Ranbir Kapoor who has been meeting Imtiaz regularly and discussing various story ideas with the director.

“They have been meeting on a regular basis and are just looking at finalising on something concrete before they make a formal announcement,” Rishi Kapoor told a news agency. Kapoor played a pivotal role in 'Love Aaj Kal'.

Mr. Kapoor is confident that working with Imtiaz would do a great deal of good to the career and talent of his son. Having worked with Imtiaz, Mr. Kapoor is full of praise for the director, calling him “cultured, sensible and simple”.

Imtiaz has so far directed three films - Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met and ‘Love Aaj Kal’ - of which two have been hits but all have been critically acclaimed.

The director did not deny being in talks with Ranbir for a possible project, but adds that nothing has been finalized yet.

“Yes, Ranbir and I have been meeting each other for quite some time and have been bouncing off story ideas. Still, we are yet to close on a story line,” Imtiaz told the agency.

Ranbir Kapoor, new kid on the blogging-block

Venting your inner feelings by writing about them can be as good as a therapy session, so it’s no wonder that a whole load of Bollywood celebs have taken up blogging in a big way. Ranbir Kapoor is the latest actor to jump on the bandwagon and soon you can read all about it.

According to reports, Ranbir will start blogging about his experiences of working on the upcoming release, Karan Johar’s Wake Up Sid. The handsome actor’s blogs will start appearing from tomorrow as he follows in the footsteps of his best buddy, Imran Khan, who has also recently started blogging too.

What is starting as a publicity gimmick for ‘Wake Up Sid’ at first, with Ranbir only writing about the film, his role in it, his co-star Konkona Sen Sharma, director Ayan Mukherjee and also about the producer Karan Johar, who himself is addicted to blogging, may develop into something much more.

Sources reveal that if Ranbir’s online musings receive a good response then he will continue his stint with blogging.

We can’t wait to read what Ranbir has to write.

Ranbir may star in Imtiaz Ali's next: Rishi Kapoor

If things move as per plan, Ranbir Kapoor will soon be working with ace filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who just delivered a big money spinner with Love Aaj Kal. The confirmation came from Rishi Kapoor who is positive that the two youngsters would soon be collaborating on a project.

"I am positive that in 2010, Imtiaz and Ranbir would be beginning a film together,” said Rishi Kapoor. “They have been meeting on a regular basis and are just looking at finalising on something concrete before they make a formal announcement."

When asked about the genre, leading lady and the production house, Rishi Kapoor said: "I never get involved in the creative aspects of Ranbir's films. He takes all his decisions himself. All I know is that Ranbir working with Imtiaz would be a great decision since I have now witnessed Imtiaz's sensibilities on a first hand basis after working with him."

Rishi Kapoor is very appreciative of the director. "While working on the film, I realised that this boy is so cultured, sensible and simple," he said. "There is a saying that one's character gets reflected in his work. It was there for everyone to see in Love Aaj Kal which was so honest and sincere, just like Imtiaz.”

A possible Ranbir and Imtiaz association would be interesting. For Ranbir, it would mean the addition of another accomplished filmmaker to his repertoire. During last two years, he has worked with veterans like Sanjay Leela Bhansali (Saawariya), Raj Kumar Santoshi (Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani) and Prakash Jha (Rajneeti).

However, Imtiaz is yet to announce his next project. "Honestly speaking, nothing has been finalised yet," said the director. "Yes, Ranbir and I have been meeting each other for quite some time and have been bouncing off story ideas. Still, we are yet to close on a story line. I have always placed my story before anything else. Whether it is Love Aaj Kal, Jab We Met or Socha Na Tha, the story has always been of paramount importance."

So is he or is he not signing Ranbir Kapoor? "I definitely want to work with him. However, I will announce my cast once the story is finalised. Making any comments before that would be immaterial and unwarranted", said Imtiaz.
