Shiney Ahuja
Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, who is in judicial custody for the alleged rape of his domestic servant will be produced before a local court in Mumbai, as his judicial custody ends on Thursday. On July 30, Shiney's judicial custody was extended for 14 days; he is presently lodged in the Arthur Road jail. He has been charged with rape, wrongful restraint and intimidation under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The Mumbai Police had filed a 109-page chargesheet against the actor.

Ahuja was arrested on June 15, a day after his domestic help accused him of rape and lodged a complaint at the Oshiwara police station. The chargesheet contains medical and forensic reports and statements of witnesses. The actor's bail pleas have been rejected in view of the mounting evidence backing up the claim that a serious crime had been committed. The actor's high status and influence has came in the way of him being offered bail as it is felt that he is in a position to influence witnesses.

Police had initially said that actor had confessed to the crime; he reportedly said that he had committed a mistake but that he had had consensual sex with the girl.
