Ayesha Takia not Wanted?

Ayesha Takia
So much has been talked about Wanted. So much has been talked about Salman Khan too. But what about Ayesha Takia Azmi, the heroine of Wanted? It looks like she is not Wanted if we are to go by the publicity and hype on her.

Salman has been seen everywhere for the last couple of weeks – all for Wanted. He has been aggressively promoting it like never before. No doubt it is a complete Salman film but can he win the battle all alone without his heroine Ayesha? He just can't as far as his character in Wanted is concerned. Unfortunately, Ayesha has not been given enough publicity.

Salman takes Ayesha on promotional campaigns only sometimes. The film is crucial for Ayesha as much as it is for Salman, as she is yet to taste success after tying the knot. She surely deserves better publicity!

Ayesha plays Salman's ladylove in Wanted, produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Prabhu Deva. It is releasing today, 18th September.

Confused young person of 2009: Ayesha Takia

Ayesha Takia
The chulbuli actress of ‘Wanted’ seems to be enjoying her career post marriage. Having Salman as her co-star in the movie, Ayesha Takia is really excited for its release. With the movie she carries a promise to carry on her acting work further.

Now, our cute lady has also confirmed about her stay in filmdom through her website jottings. She has typed, “Hey people, I just wanna make it clear that I will be doing lots more films! I love films and will continue to do them.” As on now Ayesha has no plans to retire and will be seen in couple of movies after ‘Wanted’. She has ‘Paathshaala’ with Shahid Kapoor and Revathy Verma’s ‘Aap Ke Liye Hum’ with Jaya Bachchan.

Ayesha lives by the characters she plays in movies. In fact she says that she feels like any other who has dreams and aspirations. “I contemplate and am on the fence about a lot of things! I’ve just realized that I’m a normal, confused young person of 2009... by normal I mean real and someone who is sometimes confused and doesn’t decide in an instant!” pips in the actress.

Well, we really hope she is firm on her career decisions, for we don’t want to let go of such an adorable actress!

Jaya Bachchan, Ayesha Takia starrer goes on floors today

Ayesha Takia
Family matters kept Jaya Bachchan away from her rare film assignment. Marriage and honeymoon kept Ayesha Takia away. The two are now back together playing mother and daughter in Revathy Sharma's film about an 'adopted' mother abandoned by her wretched son, played by Ranvir Shorey who was the last to join the cast.

Shooting resumes on September 5. "It would have started two days earlier. But my cast got busy with Ganesh Chaturthi," sighs the director.

While Revathy waited for Jaya and Ayesha, she shot with Madhavan. Madhavan is back in Revathy Sharma's Jaya Bachchan-Ayesha Takia mother-daughter weepie, and so is Ayesha who for a while seemed unsure if after her marriage honeymoon and other related activities she would be able to do the film when two schedules had to be cancelled.

But the director was insistent. "I couldn't imagine anyone else doing that role. If you remember Jyothika has done the part in the original. And Ayesha has the same childlike warmth and a nurturing quality to her personality. I couldn't think of anyone else."

But wasn't Genelia D'Souza the first choice? "Yes we did think of her. But Genelia is a very busy and a big star. It wasn't the money; we've paid all the actors their market price."

Madhavan who had also opted out, has been paid a whopping Rs. 1 crore for a role that is the principal male lead but relatively small compared with the ladies Jaya, Ayesha and Raveena Tandon's parts.

Sighs Revathy, "But what to do? It's very difficult to get male stars for female-oriented films. We've paid Maddy a crore out of which he has already received Rs 25 lakhs. He has already shot for five days with us."

Interestingly, Ranvir Shorey plays Jaya's bad son. "It's a grey part of a son who abandons his mother," admits the director.

Thanks to the film's matriarchal lead Jaya Bachchan, Revathi Sharma's film has a new title.

Laughs the director, "We called the film Chassni. But Jayaji put her foot down, said the title was too sweet. So we've a new title Aap Ke Liye Hum."
