Ajay Devgn's All The Best in copyright controversy

Next week's big Diwali release, All The Best, finds itself in the middle of an uncalled for controversy. Producer Karan Ramsay (of Om Films Company) has reportedly filed a copyright infringement suit against actor and producer Ajay Devgn over the script of the film.

Ramsay claims that the script of All The Best is almost the same as his under-production film called Uncle Samjha Karo. He has even gone on to mention that he had purchased the copyright of his film's script from writer Paritosh Painter in November 2006. Ramsay further adds that in 2007, Paritosh Painter had tried to get back the copyright of the script from him but in the arbitration process that followed, the IMPPA ruled the case in his favour thereby declaring Ramsay as the owner of the copyright.

Devgn films meanwhile claim that their film is based on the American play Right Bed, Wrong Husband and that they had in fact acquired the script from an American firm for $40,000. Devgn is even livid at the fact that despite knowing all this long before, Ramsay files a petition at the last minute close to his film's release.

"Right now we are in Delhi for the promotions of our film. The matter is currently in court and we would not like to comment on anything at this point of time," said a spokesperson from Devgn Films.

Salman & Ajay after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

Both Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have their individual movie releases in the coming weeks but Vipul Shah's magnum opus London Dreams will see the two stars reuniting on the big screen after a decade!

Last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's smash hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999, Ajay and Salman never got cast together till London Dreams, in which they play music aficionados in a London-based rock band.

Clarifies Vipul, "I never cast them because I wanted to repeat the Hum Dil... magic. In fact it didn't even occur to me that the two hadn't been together in a film since. I wanted Ajay for his intensity and Salman for his madness and after I cast them someone pointed out the casting coup of sorts! In fact, not many know that Salman and Ajay are great friends in real life and have immense respect for each other. They aren't very overt about it but they share amazing vibes and that will be visible on screen in London Dreams."

Ajay bagged Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil..., let's see who gets lucky with Asin in London Dreams!

Ajay Devgan and team wish ‘All The Best’ to the Indian Cricket team

Ajay Devgan
The star cast of Ajay Devgan’s ‘All The Best’ has come together in a special video wishing the Indian cricket team all the best for the forthcoming Champions Trophy.

Going with the theme of the film, ESPN sports channel recently approached Director Rohit Shetty to shoot a special video wishing the Indian Cricket team ‘all the best’ before they start the Champions Trophy in South Africa, which begins this week.

Ajay Devgan, an ardent cricket fan was all game and shot the video last week along with co-stars Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Fardeen Khan and Mugdha Godse.

Rohit Shetty says, "We shot the video in Filmistan. It's a special promo on cricket with the stars wearing masks of different cricketers and cheering the cricketers. The song is meant to wish the Indian cricketers before every game. It's an association between the channel and the ‘All The Best’ team. They wanted to me to direct the promo for the Championship Trophy."

Rohit adds, "The cast wishes the cricket team and says 'Yeh Diwali Hogi Cupwali' and then they start dancing to the title track."

Set against the background of a cricket stadium, the video is choreographed by Seema Desai while Pritam has given the music.

All the dancers are wearing the Indian cricket team's outfits. The video is currently on ESPN and News Channels.

Releasing this Diwali, ‘All The Best’ is a rib-tickling comedy resulting from mistaken identities and hilarious goof-ups.

Salman, Devgan, Asin make music!

asin hot
Vipul Shah’s decision to shoot the last song of London Dreams in Bhandup in a makeshift maidaan representing a rock stadium turned out to be Asin quite traumatic.

To begin the woes in the middle, when Salman’s dog passed away during the shooting of the song the actor broke down and wept like a baby. But he didn’t cancel the shooting.

Nonetheless, this could qualify as the most difficult climactic song ever shot. Vipul Shah recently shot the final rock–concert number for London Dreams in Bhandup near Mumbai with 5,000 junior artistes cheering Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Asin, Ranvijay and Aditya Roy Kapoor who play members of a music band.

Says Vipul, “We were stuck for the last song because of the rains. And then because of swine flu we weren’t allowed to shoot in crowds. But I had no choice. The song couldn’t be delayed.”

Remo choreographed the song and the track was sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shankar Mahadevan.

Says Vipul, “We couldn’t get the stars’ fans to fill up the open-air auditorium-set for the very simple reason that in the earlier concert songs for London Dreams we had seen how unruly the fans get when they see their favourite stars dancing in front of them.”

On top of all the practical problems faced during the shooting of this massive song, the stars were all busy elsewhere. “Salman was shooting for Dus Ka Dum. He requested them to postpone their shooting for two days. Ajay was supposed to start Priyadarshan’s shooting on those days. He asked Priyan to push his dates forward. Asin was doing an endorsement down south. Ranvijay was shooting for another film in Delhi. He flew both days and flew back. And Aditya Roy Kapoor, who was shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish, also accommodated my song.”

To compound Vipul’s troubles, Salman’s dog died during the shooting. “I thought he would leave. But he continued shooting.”

Though the experience of putting the climax song together turned out to be a nightmare Vipul is undeterred. “I’ve relieved my non-core group of technicians for my film Action Replay from their duties for now. When we regroup, they’re free to join us. Akshay and Aishwarya have promised the dates whenever we need them. If the actors are committed to a project nothing can stop a film from reaching the winning post.”

Ajay's act in 'London Dreams' modelled on Bono

Ajay Devgan
Ajay Devgan as a rock star strumming away the heated strings on stage is a hard act to swallow. Not for Vipul Shah who has modelled the Bollywood star's act on the Irish singer Bono in his forthcoming movie "London Dreams".

"So far we've only seen him in a sedate or comic image, never as someone who can cross the frontiers and do something outrageous," Shah, who hasn't quite converted the actor in an outrageously punky rock star, said.

"No, not quite the reckless renegade. I've modelled Ajay's rock act on Bono, the Irish lead singer from U2. Bono was never your quintessential rock star. He had a more sober and a less wild image. When Ajay gets on stage in 'London Dreams', he replicates the curbed tempered-down rock-star's image of U2. Yes, I modelled him on Bono."

The gritty sweaty ambience, the riveting guitar licks, the angst-filled vocals and the screaming hysterical fans... Ajay goes through the rock motions in the film with elan.

Interestingly, Salman Khan has no particular image in "London Dreams". "He plays a more improvisational musician whereas Ajay plays a more professional rock musician," said Shah.

The director has already shot all the on-stage performances except one. "I wanted to see how the other stage performances look before shooting the last one. I was afraid they'd all look the same. But they've all come out differently. And Ajay looks like a rock star in the truest sense of the word."

Ajay proposes Bipasha mid air!

Ajay Devgan
Trust Ajay Devgan to put in all the efforts for his next production. He has surely taken it to a completely different level, quite literally!

In his forthcoming movie ALL THE BEST, Ajay pulls off a stunt for his beloved played by none other than the sultry Bipasha Basu. He proposes to her in a suspended car mid air, eight feet above the ground!

But apparently the particular stunt took a lot of planning and efforts to get it perfect.

Says a source, ''It was something completely different from what audiences would ever get to see. Not only did the car have to be suspended from mid air and Ajay had to balance his weight, we had to take all the precautionary measures as Bipasha was standing below the car and nothing could go wrong. To add to it, it had to look completely romantic. It took us two days to plan and an entire day to shoot.''

Well quite obviously Ajay proposes such that Bipasha could not dispose!

Ajay Devgan: Salman Khan will let your eyes watered

Ajay Devgan
Mumbai: Well, there is some unusual news for the fans of 'Salman Khan' who might be thinking that their loving actor would be seen playing a full fledged role in "London Dreams".

As per the reliable sources the actor will be seen playing a supporting roll in his upcoming and much awaited movie London Dreams.

The testimony of the above speculation radiates from the fact that it is none other than lead actor 'Ajay Devgan' who has worked hard on the heart-wrenching climax scene in the movie.

Ajay Devgan says that Salman has put in a very special performance in London Dreams. He is also full of praise for Salman. He adds that the actor would move the audience from within and will also fill their eyes with water by his performance in the dramatic climax scene. This performance by Salman will indeed be worth a watch in Vipul Shah's London Dreams.
