Chatting up Nauheed Cyrusi

nauheed cyrusi
Model turned actress Nauheed Cyrusi shot to the limelight with the music video ‘Piya Basanti’. Her debut in Bollywood was in the film Supari, after which she starred in films like Inteha, Anwar and Lakeer. Right now she is lighting up the airways in her latest TV commercial for KFC. The actor was in the city for the Bacardi Martini Grand Prix 2009 and took time out with MyBangalore.com

What brings you to Bangalore?
This time I’m here just for the Bacardi event and I have to rush back once it is done.

How good a bartender are you?
I can’t say I’m too bad, I can put together a decent drink whether it be for myself or friends. I can’t do all the throwing bottles up in the air stuff, but if it is a good drink you are looking for I can put together a great one.

What is your favorite drink?
There are a couple of drinks that are my favorite, but, one particular discovery that I made today is what I would like to mention. I never thought about adding coffee in any of the drinks that I make but today one particular bartender made a drink with coffee and I was taken aback. I was really good and it changed my view on what goes into to a drink completely.

Have you been Bangalore before and do you like the city?
I have to been to the city on several occasions and I love the city. I like the weather here it’s so much better than Mumbai. I like the way everything here is so laid back unlike Mumbai. Though the places here close early I like the pubs and restaurants here, somehow they are so different from Mumbai.

Any favorite hangouts in Bangalore?
Yeah! There is this place that makes serves home-made wine, and I just love to go there. Now it’s here or on Delhi, I’m confused because I keep travelling to these two places. Well, I guess it is here. There is this place called ‘jungle hut’ near here that I’d like to go to. I’ve seen the place on the web it seems fabulous, I’d like to stay in a tree house.

Would you be staying in the city for some time?
No, not this time. One reason here is I’m here alone and I don’t like to travel alone. I always prefer to travel with friends.

Any upcoming movies?
Yes, there one due for release, in a week “Kissan”, I’m starring opposite Sohail Khan.

Any big expectations as far as the box office are concerned?
Not really, I my experience I have learned not to expect. I have done my part and so has everybody who played any kind of part with the movie and now all we can do is wait and see what happens.

What is closer to your heart modeling or acting?
Modeling anyday. I always preferred modeling; I got into movies just to see how it works and because I got some good movies, but given a choice it’s always modeling.

How did it all begin?
Well, my story is not different for most others, I got into advertising, then into main stream modeling, and that led to me getting into movies and here I’m, nothing special there, is there?

What about your plans for the future in regards to modeling and acting?
I don’t really have any plans. I want to go with the flow. Take things as they come, right now I don’t want to worry too much about anything. But, it would be nice have a couple of hit films but all that only time will tell.
