Borrowing a leaf from their book, Akshay Kumar slashed his eyebrow for his forthcoming film Blue. Director Anthony D’Souza says that when Akshay heard he had to look mean, and a ‘killer’ (pun intended) on screen, Akshay came up with the suggestion of slashing his eyebrow. In Blue Akshay plays the character of a rich businessman who is ruthless and determined, in other words he is mean.
The director was surprised at this suggestion, but after deliberating over it, he decided to go along with it. Akshay looks menacing with the slashed eyebrow. Since Akshay plays a mature character who is savvy, the director decided to do away with the clichéd French beards and goatees and instead, opted for a very distinctive salt-and-pepper bearded look.
Playing his age, the cut eyebrows and the salt-and-pepper beard gave him just the right touch! A very calculating and shrewd look that added a lot of character to his on-screen persona.
