Lip-Smacking Kangana Adorns Femina Special

kangana ranaut
Looking super-sultry in a short satin skirt, Kangana Ranaut pouts on the front cover of Femina's annual Love & Sex edition. The actress is refusing to comment on whether she has had lip surgery and of course there's no reason why she should. Whether she has or not, it's clear that she still exudes an aura of intelligent sophisticated femininity in the new September edition.

Kangana's a busy girl at the moment with up to a dozen projects on the boil including the long-awaited Kites with Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori; the much-anticipated Once Upon a Time in Mumbai with Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi; and R. Madhavan project entitled Tanu Weds Manu; the multi-starrer masala movie No Problem and an Amitabh movie called Actor. There's an as-yet untitled Sanjay Dutt movie in which she plays a journalist based on the life of Barkha Dutt; and she pops up in the new Prabhas movie Ek Niranjan. "Each of these is a different genre from anything I have done before," she explains, "So, it does feel like a time of many firsts...my first comedy, my first romantic comedy, my first thriller and so on! Exciting!"

And then there's Vaada Raha... I Promise with Bobby Deol. "I play the love-interest of Bobby Deol," she says, "He plays a doctor who is researching cancer. He is very positive and fun-loving person. But, an incident occurs in his life which changes the flow. It is a very emotional film and I am sure the audience will love it."

Kangana Ranaut gets marriage proposal

Kangana Ranaut
The postponement of Once Upon A Time in Mumbai by 15 days was a blessing in disguise for Kangana Ranaut. She decided to make the most out of it and flew to Italy for the first time sans any friends, family or assistants. She had a ball of a time all alone and she even got marriage proposals.

“The Italians were very nice. The lighthearted and earnest flirting of young single Italian guys, calling me princess and asking me to marry them…some in French, because they thought I was from France, made me laugh! And I was touched by people’s easy helpfulness - strangers clicked my picture for me or attended to me at hotel receptions or called a cab for me or helped me carry my very heavy suitcases! Strangers were friends and companions and I felt like we connected in a very spiritual way, even though I didn’t know their names. People were so polite and humble, that Italy became the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced,” she wrote on her blog.

She fell in with the place itself. “Italy’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit… and I was not disappointed…ancient culture, amazing art, fabulous food, lovely people, and lyrical language…I certainly did fall in love - with the place itself,” she said adding “I ate good food, visited beautiful places, fell in love with Michelangelo’s art, made wishes throwing coins in the fountain. I loved the works of Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael, by far my favorites. The ‘Last Supper’ is such an exquisite piece of art…I could look at it forever.”

Besides visiting famous historical places, Kangana went on a shopping spree at Milan. “One of the craziest things I did when I was not wealthy at all, soon after my film GANGSTER, was to buy a dress that I paid so much for that I had no money left at all…not even to put dinner on my table…and I never regretted it! So you can imagine my delight at being in Milan, which really does deserve its title as a fashion capital. I had the most fun shopping in Milan,” she wrote.

Now, she has returned home and all set to take on her films. Besides Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, she has films like No Problem, Tanu weds Manu and three other projects in her kitty. She is raring to go!

Kangana Ranaut undergoes Lips Surgery

Kangana Ranaut
Indian woman have always fantasized having a perfect figure and face as the heroines adorning the silver screens. But what happens when the same heroines ruin their priced possession, their face, to petty uplifting surgeries? First it was Koena Mitra whose face upliftment surgery made her look frightening enough to scare away producers from signing her for their films and now its Kangna Ranaut. Yes you read right. This pretty lass also went under the knife to get a lip job done but came out looking appalling!

Kangna was recently spotted in Bandra on a shopping adventure. But when the shutterbugs crowded around her to get her close pictures they were shocked. The area around her lips was swollen and she looked awful. Something similar to female version of Hanuman….pst pst!

We wonder what made Kangna go for such a horrible makeover when she was doing pretty fine with her ashen face?

Kangana pairs up with Madhavan

Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut is known for playing heavy duty roles in films like Gangster and Fashion, but the actress has now signed on her second light-hearted movie Tanu Weds Manu.

The fun film, directed by Aanand L Rai of Strangers fame, has Kangana paired with R Madhavan.

"It was after much deliberation that Kangana was finalised for the role. The character that Kangana would be playing in Tanu Weds Manu is such that it is of paramount importance to get the casting right," said Rai.

Kangana, who has played a traumatised women in most of her films, was signed on for her first comic role by Anil Kapoor for his production No Problem, a comedy directed by Anees Bazmee.

Before venturing into comedy, Kangana did a series of serious films.

While she was haunted by ghosts in Raaz - The Mystery Continues, Fashion had her playing a supermodel who fell to drugs and abuse. Life In A... Metro showed her in a turbulent affair with a much married boss (Kay Kay Menon), Woh Lamhe had her play a schizophrenic while in Gangster she played an alcoholic moll to a gangster (Shiney Ahuja).

Director Rai, however, is confident that she will pull off the role in Tanu Weds Manu.

"Yes, I have studied her filmography quite closely and I know for sure that Tanu Weds Manu would finally showcase Kangana in a different light. There is a definite humour to the film which thankfully is poles apart from life vs death roles that Kangana has played in the past," he said.

Explaining the reason behind finalising Kangana, Rai said, "When I was narrating the film to her, she came across as someone who was very passionate and energetic when it came to films. Moreover, what worked for me was the fact that she was taking a personal view on the subject. Now that's the kind of girl I wanted for the film since I wanted her to add something of her own to the character as well."

But before Kangana, Rai had approached Konkona Sen Sharma but she couldn't accept the offer due to date problems.

"There were genuine date issues due to which Konkona couldn't come on board. We are looking at shooting the film in the months of September, October and November but she is unavailable then. However, I'm happy about Kangana now being signed for the film since she and Madhavan coming together would be really special for the film."

Rai had earlier made Strangers, a thriller that had Jimmy Sheirgill and Kay Kay Menon.

"After working on Strangers, it is nice to be working on a light-hearted entertainer with a sensitive love story at its heart. The film has an interesting soul while going well with the commercial aspects of things. I would be travelling across my locations through the next few days and begin shooting in September," he said.

The filmmaker said his movie would be shot in places like Lucknow, Kanpur, Faridkot, Patiala and New Delhi.

I was tired of being depressed: Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut
Goodbye Adhyayan Suman, farewell intense, brooding roles... Kangna Ranaut is presenting herself in a new avatar to Bollywood that of the romantic comediene. She’s shooting her very first comedy No Problem with Akshaye Khanna and will take up another, Tannu Weds Mannu with R Madhavan, immediately after that. This image change couldn’t have come at a better time.

Yes, I am seeing a lot of changes recently, more positive than negative thankfully, she said of her personal and professional life. Excited about doing comedy, Kangna said, “It’s taken so long for me to do what most conventional actresses start out doing romance or romantic comedies. But better late than never. I was tired of being depressed, now its time to have some fun,” she said.

Admitting she’s not too funny a person in real life, despite having a humorous side, the sexy star said, I am glad I did the intense kind of roles early on in my career. But now I am happy with the kind of films coming my way. And that includes Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and the Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori-starrer Kites , amongst others. Does she feel left out considering the film is being promoted solely with these two stars? “I have done my job, the rest is the filmmakers call, they can market it in whatever way they want to,” she replied, adding, “at the end of the day, its only good performances that’ll stand out.”

Her break-up has not really left Kangna heartbroken and hurt, or the actress is not showing any signs of it. “It’ll take a lot more than these ups and downs in life to break me,” she said. And it’s really not as if I am working to get over anything. Work’s keeping me busy for work’s sake, but yes, its keeping me distracted from pondering too much about the past. I know that love hurts sometimes, but I can never stop being in love.”
